Award Winning!

Banks County Development Authority recognized by the Georgia Economic Developers Association for "Deal of the Year" - an “outstanding achievement in the location/expansion of business in Georgia” at its Annual Awards luncheon. Banks County Government

Towns such as Historic Homer, Alto, Baldwin, Gillsville, Maysville, and Lula offer residents an opportunity to explore our rich heritage.  You can enjoy a round of golf at the Chimney Oaks Golf Club or a day of motorsports at Atlanta Dragway and even a day of fun & games at Funopolis.  In Banks County, you have easy access to the beautiful mountains of North Georgia or the booming city of Atlanta while the Banks Crossing area offers lodging, wonderful shopping and incredible indoor/outdoor activities. In addition to all this, our award winning schools are among the best in Northeast Georgia. Our residents already know and our visitors see, Banks County can be described as:

From the foothills to the crossroads....Simply the best!

Diana Food Groundbreaking
On Wednesday, April 5th, DIANA Food broke ground on their new natural chicken broth facility. DIANA Food will invest $50 MM and hire 88 people initially. This project represents the largest single private business investment ever recorded in Banks County. Due to inclement weather, the ground breaking was held in the Board Room of the Banks County Courthouse Annex in efforts not to dampen the ceremony.

Keep Banks Beautiful Wins The Governor's Circle Award Again in 2016!!

Congratulations are in order again for Leslie George and Ashley Rubio of Keep Banks Beautiful.  Keep Banks Beautiful received the Governor’s Circle Award on January 26, 2016. The statewide award recipients were presented at the State Capitol as part of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s Annual Legislative Day.
The Governor’s Circle Award recognizes exemplary performance by certified affiliates in reducing litter, minimizing waste and greening local communities. To qualify for the Governor’s Circle Award, affiliates must be in good standing with Keep America Beautiful; conducting an annual Litter Index, calculating the affiliate’s cost/benefit ratio and engaging volunteers to take greater responsibility for their community environment. Additionally, the affiliate must be an active member of the Georgia network.
“The affiliates receiving the Governor’s Circle Award represent the best of community improvement efforts”, said Sarah Visser, Executive Director of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, “they are doing the hard work every day to keep their communities economically vibrant and environmentally sustainable”.

Keep Banks County Beautiful has just celebrated its 27th year working in the County providing education, beautification, recycling and programs to bring the community together in a positive way.
Georgia is the first state in the Keep America Beautiful (KAB) network to create a Governor’s Circle Award modeled on KAB’s national good standing designation.  Go KBB!!
